Joel Grostephan, LICSW

I am the clinical director and a therapist. I see therapy as a gift. It's a way to learn new ways of connecting with others and yourself. I also know that the idea of seeing a therapist itself causes anxiety for some people for different reasons. Hoping that change can happen and that one can feel better is hard for many people. I work with clients' strengths to help them navigate decisions they need to make for themselves.  We will not be focused on your symptoms or jargon if we can help it.

I am particularly interested in working with clients with a history trauma whether that be an event or a pattern of neglect. I am a student of Diana Fosha and other contemporary psychodynamic thinkers. I have done significant training and supervision with AEDP and ISTDP models. These models focus on tracking your moment to moment experience including thoughts, anxiety, feelings, and your body.

I completed my Masters of Social Work at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2011.

I live in Minneapolis with my wife, two boys, cat and dog.  When I am not working, I am playing bluegrass and enjoying the outdoors on foot, by canoe in the BWCA, or on my bike.

Robert Miller, MA, LAMFT

I believe we all have the power within us to get to the healing, healthy growth, and development we need. My hope is that we can work together in a collaborative way to make that happen for you and your important relationships. I utilize the collective wisdom of the healing and growth of others to bear on the present moment.

My particular clinical approach is based in humanistic, relational and family systems therapy, as well as solution-focused, cognitive behavioral, and dialectical behavioral therapy models. I am particularly inspired by the work of Virginia Satir and Carl Whitaker.

I am drawn to work with families and couples though I see many individuals. I work with clients on anxiety, depression, coparenting, relationship stress, trauma and substance abuse.

I completed my Masters of Arts in Counseling at St. Mary’s College of California, Moraga in 2019. I am under supervision in pursuit of getting my LMFT.

In session I seek to work in the here and now, looking for themes that lead to deep, habitual -- sometimes intergenerational -- patterns of thought and body that may be blocking or limiting a fuller aliveness in the moment. Whatever the issue, we get to look at it and work with it and see what can be done with it, so happiness can shine forth more spontaneously, freely and openly.

I read widely in philosophy, theology, art and literature, which informs my view of human nature, and human existence. In my free time, I love spending time on the road on my bicycle.

Elizabeth Fong, MSW, LGSW

I work with clients exploring emotions, fantasies, and ways you engage with the world. I believe therapeutic healing occurs within a trusting relationship between client and therapist. My practice focuses on working in depth by co-creating a space where we can explore your most authentic self. I have experience working in residential settings with adults who have experienced psychiatric hospitalization, substance use concerns, and systemic oppression.

I'm informed by somatic therapies, relational psychoanalysis and feminist theory. Currently, I am a candidate at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Training Program. I have experience teaching yoga in mental health settings.

Through our relationship, we can better understand your emotional patterns that shape your life and find a path towards meaningful and lasting change. If you feel like we may be a good fit, please give me a call to schedule a free 15 minute consultation. I work with clients ages 15 and older.

I completed my Masters of Social Work degree at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2024. I am under supervision in pursuit of getting my LICSW with Joel Grostephan.

Outside of work I enjoy knitting, fishing, and reading.

I look forward to the opportunity to support you on your path to well-being.
